The IRCC is happy to announce that the new Panther cluster is available for use. The Panther cluster will approximately be a 1500 core cluster. 380 cores are currently available with more on the way.
This cluster has a 10 GB high-speed data network and 1 GB high speed interconnect for messaging. A low latency infiniband interconnect will be coming in future months of a portion of the nodes.
The cluster comes with 40 TB of shared high performance scratch space using a High Performance Parallel Filesystem called GPFS. This file system is specifically designed for HPC jobs and it will be available on all nodes.
