FIU’s IRCC attended the SSERCA meeting at USF to design a distributed computing and storage system. The system will allow geographically distributed SSERCA member institutions to share computing and storage resources to enhance scientific and educational collaboration.
SSERCA is building a federated identity management system using open-source identity solutions such as Shibboleth and grid certificate. The system will provide a secure single sign-on service for users within or across member institutions.
The new object based storage system is being developed in partnership with DDN (Data Direct Networks) based on a open-source technology called “ownCloud” to securely access, sync, and share data among member institutions.
FIU is at the forefront of research collaboration, and will continue to lead the way with innovation.
