Facilities

All IRCC equipment is housed in the FIU Data Center, which is managed by the Division of Information Technology’s Operations department. Download or view the report below  to include in grant proposals or citations.

The FIU Data Center is outfitted with enterprise-grade power distribution systems designed to run uninterrupted, even in the unlikely event of a total power outage. All systems are fed with conditioned Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) power that will provide a smooth transition to power provided by an on-site generator. Should one module be out of operation as a result of equipment failure or scheduled maintenance, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system is redundant to ensure continuous operation. For the unlikely event of a fire, the Data Center contains an advanced clean agent fire-suppression. The data center is designed to function on a 24-hour, 7 day a week, 365 day per year schedule. To ensure security, firewalls and intrusion protection systems are provided to prevent unauthorized access to restricted servers. The Data Center also has physical access controls and 24/7 video surveillance.
